Just recently, Emily, Willow and mum, Pippa, spent a few days with us, being neutered.  All of them are doing very well post-operatively – eating, pooping and doing all the guinea pig things!

Apart from preventing unwanted pregnancies, desexing female guinea pigs can prevent them from developing certain conditions later in life, such as ovarian cysts.  Ovarian cysts are extremely common, and can cause weight loss, discomfort, abdominal enlargement, nipple enlargement, sexual behaviour and increased aggression.

Feel free to give the clinic a call if you would like more information on desexing your pet.
