The lovely Dr Emma Mcmillan recently attended the Queensland Finch Society Sale in Morningside. While there on official duty assessing the health of birds on show, she was able to catch a glimpse of some stunning species. While finches are commonly kept as pets, many people are not aware that they are able to be assessed and treated by our Veterinarians. Despite their tiny size, here at Brisbane Bird and Exotics Veterinary Service we are able to provide the same quality of care that any larger animal would recieve. We recommend regular check ups, a high quality diet and a high standard of hygeine when keeping finches, as with all birds. Do you keep finches at home? You might recognise these species?
